Have your say on polling day - 4 May!

With just days until the Gloucestershire County Council elections, Deputy Returning Officer, Claire Hughes, is encouraging Forest of Dean residents to use their vote and have their say.

The County Council elections will take place on Thursday 4 May 2017.

A full list of the candidates can be found on the Council’s website on the Elections and voting page.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on polling day and all residents should have received a poll card with details of their local polling station.

Residents can view the address of their polling station and a location map by using the ‘My Location’ function on the homepage of the Council’s website.

When voting at a polling station it is helpful to take your poll card with you. However, if you do not have it you can still vote providing you are registered.

Polling station staff will not be able to give out ballot papers to anyone arriving after 10pm, so residents are reminded to arrive in good time.

If you applied for a postal vote you should have received your voting paper. Please complete and return it by post, hand deliver it to the Council Offices in Coleford, or drop it off at your local polling station by 10pm on Thursday 4 May 2017.

Deputy Returning Officer Claire Hughes said: “The Gloucestershire County Council elections only take place every four years, so it’s important that as many people as possible take the time to use their vote and have their say. By casting their vote they will be helping to decide who will represent them in the County Council.”
