Council Chairman raises over £4,500 for Great Oaks Hospice
Just over £4,500 has been presented by the Chairman of Forest of Dean District Council, Councillor Jane Horne, to her chosen charity, Great Oaks Dean Forest Hospice.
A total of £4,514.22 was raised through the Chairman’s Charity Dinner and Pride of the Forest Awards in May this year for the local charity.
Councillor Jane Horne, Chairman of the District Council said: “It has been a privilege to represent such a wonderful organisation and help residents affected by life limiting illness.
“The staff and volunteers at the hospice are fantastic and provide a high level of care for those who need it most.
“I’m very pleased to have been able to raise these funds with the help and generosity of everyone at the Council and people from the local community.”
Ruth Keeble, Executive Manager of Great Oaks Dean Forest Hospice was overwhelmed by the donation and added: “We would like to thank Jane and everyone involved in raising this money which will allow us to carry on providing essential care for Forest of Dean residents.”
