Your Guide

The money you pay us in the form of business rates and council tax is collected by Forest of Dean District Council on behalf of the government. The three local authorities in Gloucestershire - the district council, county council and police - all receive a share of this money to help pay for local services for both business and residential communities.

In this booklet we’ve included a brief snapshot of how each supports the local community. You’ll also find all the statutory information we have to publish about how your rates are worked out and detailed spending plans for each authority. Theses booklet provides a summary of where we’re spending your money, and plans for the future.
