Recycling, Rubbish and Waste

?

The Forest of Dean District Council is responsible for collecting all domestic waste and recycling within the district.  In addition to collecting refuse on a weekly basis, we also collect dry recycling (i.e. paper, glass, tins) and garden waste from the kerbside usually on a fortnightly basis.  We also provide recycling facilities for a wider range of materials such as cardboard, plastics and textiles at local recycling sites located across the district.  Last year the district sent over 20,000 tonnes of waste to landfill.  This equates to about 60% of all the waste that we collect so there is still much more that we could all do.

A wide range of items can also be recycled at the district’s Household Recycling Centre.  Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for the site which enables the recycling of everything from fridges and freezers to electrical appliances, chemicals, oil and car batteries.
