Local Plan Review 2005 PART 1
The District wide Local Plan adopted November 2005 sets out policies and proposals to guide development in the Forest of Dean up to 2011. The Local Plan Review is published in three parts. Part One comprises the policies and proposals applicable to the whole of the District, or to large parts of the area. Part Two comprises individual settlement statements, including background information, a development strategy for each settlement based on the detailed application of the District Wide policies, and where appropriate, policies and proposals specific to individual settlements. Part Three comprises proposals maps for the settlements listed in part two. The proposal maps are Ordnance Survey based.
Part One of the Local Plan must be read in conjunction with the Settlement Policies and Proposals policies contained in Part Two and the Proposals Maps contained within Part Three of the Forest of Dean District Local Plan Review Adopted November 2005.

Saved Policies are policies within the Adopted Local Plan that are saved for a period of time to allow them to be progressively replaced with Local Development Framework Documents. The document attached includes saved policies, those not saved are shown deleted with a line The saved plan policies are the only Local Plan Policies after 15th November 2008. From that date when determining planning applications decisions will be made with regard to these saved policies along with National and Regional Planning Guidance. Policies that duplicate national guidance shall not be saved.
