COMMUNITY GRANTS 2013/14

The Forest of Dean District Council offer not for profit voluntary and community groups - both constituted and non-constituted - the opportunity to apply for one off funding to enable the development of stronger and more cohesive communities. This approach is aimed at building the capacity of the community rather than directly delivering services. Projects should clearly be able to show that there is local value and leadership in them and demonstrate its importance to the community.

FOREST YOUTH ACTIVITIES GRANT

The Forest Youth Activities Fund is now open for applications. This money is being awarded by the Forest Youth Forum on behalf of the Forest of Dean District Council and Gloucestershire County Council. The Forest Youth Activities Fund is designed to help provide activities in the Forest district that make a positive difference to young people and to support young people to make decisions. There is £50,000 available. The process is an open application process to all young people living in the Forest of Dean district. We would like to encourage applications from informal groups of young people as well as those within established youth organisations.

You can apply for a maximum of £5,000 per application.

THE COMMISSIONERS FUND

As a result of the Police and Crime Panel approving the budget for the Police and Crime Commissioner, the Commissioner's Fund is now open for applications. This fund has been set aside to fund local community safety initiatives. Constituted community groups, public sector and voluntary sector organisations in the county are invited to bid for a share of the money to enhance community safety and reduce crime and disorder.

The Commissioner's Fund runs from 2013 to 2017. It aims to support outcome based projects that support the PCC Priorities.

Grantnet and Funding Focus are no longer available; for funding information please go to Gloucestershire County Council website  http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/funding  - they compile a regular bulletin listing some of the UK external funding opportunities from Lottery distributors, Central Government and Charitable Trusts, open to Gloucestershire organisations.
