The following information details the basic rules we have to help everybody enjoy their swim and gives you a brief description about each type of session.  For safety reasons each session has a designated maximum and no further admissions are made if this number is reached.

Children’s Admissions Policy: To swim without adult supervision children MUST be 8 years or over AND be able to swim competently. Children 7 and under MUST BE SUPERVISED IN THE WATER BY AN ADULT (aged 16 or over) at a maximum ratio of one adult to two children. Children 8 and over must use their own gender changing room.

Family Swims offer the chance to swim together as a family group.  The admission rates for these sessions are also cheaper than the standard prices.  Unaccompanied children, or adults on their own, are not admitted to these sessions.

Public Swims are open to anyone. Children can come on their own, providing they meet our children’s admissions policy (shown above).

50+ Swim provides an opportunity for older people to enjoy a swim together. These sessions are also a great social occasion.

Techno Swim is designed for people aged 14 years or over who wish to develop their fitness levels through swimming, under the guidance of our instructor. The session is also ideal for triathletes in training.

Waterbabies is a semi-structured session to develop your child’s water confidence at an early age.

Aqua Aerobics is a safe and effective way to improve your fitness and general well being. With the water supporting you it can also be beneficial for those with minor mobility problems. The resistance the water provides means fast results and above all, IT’S FUN!

Adults Only swims give you the chance to swim without children in the pool. These sessions are open to anyone aged 16 or over.

Therapy Swim is for those rehabilitating from injury, those with mobility problems and those who need to swim for other medical reasons. A GP letter is required to take part in this session.

Swimming Lessons need to be booked and run as block courses.  We cater for all abilities, both adults and children.

Funsplash is open to anyone, with the large play rafts are in the pool.

Swimming Pool Parties are a huge hit with the kids. As we don’t charge per head they also offer great value for money! A variety of packages are available so have a look at the 'Children’s Parties' page for further information.

Swimming Pool Hygiene

You can help us to keep a high standard of pool water quality and lower chlorine levels by following a few simple rules

  • Use the toilet BEFORE you swim and get out of the pool if you need to go during your swim
  • Have a shower BEFORE you swim. This gets rid of a lot of the sweat and bacteria that would otherwise end up in the pool
  • If you have a cold, throat infection or ear infection please do not swim

Following these guidelines will help reduce the chance of your eyes stinging

Children in Nappies

If your child is not yet out of conventional nappies you need to consider some form of swim nappy.

Conventional nappies become water logged and weigh your child down. It is also likely that they will not contain any small accidents, causing a potential hygiene problem.

Disposable swim nappies are available from supermarkets and most chemists and are effective in the pool. Alternatively, we sell AquaNappies®. They are snug fitting and contain any little accidents, preventing embarrassment to parent and child. Aquanappies® can be washed and re-used.

Swimming Pool Rules

We want EVERY customer that swims in the pool to enjoy their visit. Please observe the basic pool rules shown below, which are there for the safety and comfort of all swimmers.

  • Please do not run on the poolside or in the changing rooms
  • Do not push or throw another swimmer into the pool
  • Do not push another swimmer under the water
  • ‘Bombing’ and ‘Genies’ are not permitted
  • Save the kissing and petting for an appropriate place!
  • Face masks, snorkels and flippers cannot be worn in the pool
  • Diving is only allowed from the deep end, along the length of the pool
  • Please do not take food or drink into the changing areas or the swimming pool
  • Children in armbands or swimming aids should not go past the designated marker
  • Swimmers should wear a suitable costume. Cut off jeans are not allowed.
  • LISTEN to the lifeguard on duty.  They are there for YOUR SAFETY!

Enjoy Your Swim!
