Strategic Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Purpose of committee

·              Deals with issues relating to the planning, performance and management of council services, including value for money and issues affecting the local community.

·              Checks on the Cabinet’s work as a critical friend.

·              Focuses on policy review and development alongside scrutiny of external organisations.

·               Forms permanent working groups and task groups to look at particular issues.

·              Meets in public six times a year.
