Cinderford Area Action Plan (AAP)

Introduction

In 2008 The Cinderford Regeneration Board started working on an Area Action Plan for Cinderford's Northern Quarter. 

Area Action Plans are designed to address areas of significant change, including sites where regeneration opportunities need to be sensitively balanced with conservation concerns. They ensure that development is of an appropriate scale, mix and quality for its location. 

The Northern Quarter Area Action Plan (AAP) was adopted as a statutory planning document by the Forest of Dean District Council on the 23rd February 2012. It will now provide the planning framework for this area as it attracts investment.

There is a pending legal challenge to both the Core Strategy and the Cinderford Northern Quarter Area Action Plan which is due to be heard in May 2013. The outcome of the challenge may result in changes to the Core Strategy and the Area Action Plan but until such time both documents remain as adopted parts of the Development Plan.
