Saved Policies

Following the adoption of the Core Strategy and the Cinderford Northern Quarter Area Action Plan in February 2012, much of the 2005 Local Plan has been superceded and is no longer part of the Development Plan. The Planning Policies that have been prepared by the Forest of Dean District Council and are now in force are as follows:

As part of the transitionary arrangements for the 2004 Act, local plan policies were saved for 3 years from adoption in 15th November 2008.  A direction letter from the Government Office for the South West (GOEM) dated 21st October 2008 identified policies to be saved after 15th November 2008 

Many of these have been superseded by the Core Strategy, adopted on 23rd February 2012.  Those policies which still remain are shown in Appendix A Core Strategy - Replacement Policies or can be found in Appendix A (page 100) of the Forest of Dean District Adopted Core Strategy .
 
The remaining site specific policies and allocations  which are held over from the 2005 Local Plan are expected to be replaced by the Site Allocations Development Plan Document scheduled for adoption in 2014.
