The Public Bodies Bill: The Case for Exemption

On 17 January 2011 a delegation of councillors, officers and representatives from the community visited the House of Lords to oppose the Public Bodies Bill.

As the bill is currently drafted ministers will have the power to abolish, merge or transfer functions relating to the Forestry Commission.

The case presented at the House of Lords is hoping that the Forest of Dean will be exempt from Clause 17 of the Public Bodies Bill.
