Polling Station and Boundary Reviews

In accordance with the requirements of the Representation of the People Act 1983 and the Electoral Administration Act 2006 the Council is required to undertake a review of its polling districts, places and stations every 4 years

The timetable for the review is as follows:

Notice of start of review - Monday 19 September

Returning Officer's comments published no later than 26 September

Representations to be received by Friday  11 November

Report to Council - February 2012

Revised arrangements come into force - on publication of 2012 register of electors

Any elector in the local authority area may make a representation in relation to the size and boundaries of polling districts and the location and suitability of polling places.  The Council welcomes comments or representations from any elected representative, local political parties, community groups and any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability

Following the consultation period any feedback received will be published, a report will be taken to Council for approval.  Details of the designation of polling districts and places together with Information regarding the polling station will be published.

Designation of Polling Districts, Places and Stations 2012

The Review of Parliamentary Constituencies in England 

As a result of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 receiving Royal Assent on 31 January 2013, the date of the next Parliamentary constituency boundary review has been postponed until 2018. The Boundary Commission for England has consequentially ceased working on the 2013 Review and will no longer be reporting to the Secretary of State in autumn 2013.
