·              Makes operational decisions within council policy and proposes the annual budget.

·              Receives recommendations from the scrutiny committees and task groups.  Recommends new policies to council and decides how they are delivered within agreed budgets.

·              The work programme is updated each month.

·              Members have specialist areas of interest (portfolios).

·              Meets in public every month apart from August.
