The Key Logo
If you are the parent or guardian of a child under the age of 16 with a disability then they may be eligible for a Free Swim Pass for use at the Forest Leisure Lydney, Cinderford, Coleford and Newent swimming pools during public designated sessions.  The pass also entitles a parent/carer over the age of 16 to accompany the young person for free.  To apply for a pass you must register your child with The Key who will deal with the application on your behalf.

The Key is a special information service for any family in Gloucestershire with a disabled child aged 0-25 years.  The service is free and confidential and registration is entirely voluntary.

There are many benefits for families who join The Key which include:

  • New members will receive a free introductory pack on joining.  The pack includes a Parents Handbook and other useful information customised to the child’s age and disability.

  • Key members receive a newsletter called ‘Keywords’ which is sent out every quarter.  The newsletter contains information about local support groups and activities available for disabled children and young people.

  •  There is a Parent Contact Register, for families to join if they would like to contact other families registered with The Key for support.

  •  If you join The Key, you will proactively be kept up to date with information for you and your child.

The Key is open Monday to Wednesday from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
