Release Date: Jun 07, 2012

Newent Train Station 2Having no time to train should no longer be an excuse to dodge the gym with a revolutionary new training room at Forest Leisure Newent to help you get that summer body in record time.

The room, named the ‘Train Station’ has just opened at the Forest of Dean District Council run leisure centre and is packed full of the latest equipment. Quick 30 minute fitness classes will start at the site from mid June and are ideal for people short of time who want a quick all over workout with maximum impact.

Newent Train Station has eight training zones and includes a new music system. The room is ideal for individual workouts, circuit sessions and fun group challenges for anyone over the age of 16.

Fitness equipment in the room is the very latest and includes speed ladders and hurdles, kettle bells, power bags, boxing work with pads and bags, medicine balls, rebounders, a balance dome, suspension training equipment, tractor tyre and battle ropes for men and women.

Leisure Centre Manager Graham Ridler said: “Gym members love the new equipment and it’s something we can be really proud of at Forest Leisure Newent. It contains all the equipment to rival the national gyms and complements our fitness suite perfectly.

“The focus is on fun for this class with all the toys to play with from punch bags to speed ladders. It’s all about having fun to get fit rather than being on the treadmill for 20 minutes. It will push you and will be hard work but for a shorter time and with great results.”

Cabinet member for the Community at Forest of Dean District Council, Cllr Terry Hale said: “We’re really proud to be able to offer this fantastic new facility at our Newent leisure centre. It demonstrates our commitment to providing leisure services right across the district.”

Classes start mid June. To join a class call Forest Leisure Newent on 01531 821519.
