Do you know someone who has made a difference to their community?
Then say ‘thank you’, nominate them!
This is the sixth year that the Forest of Dean District Council has teamed up with The Forester to launch the awards which will be presented at the Chairman’s Charity Dinner on Friday 23 November at Whitemead Forest Park.
This year we have two new categories taking the total number of awards to nine. The two new categories are the Good Neighbour and Young Enterprise Award. To support these awards seven of them are generously sponsored by excellent local businesses. This years awards have attracted two new sponsors; SPP Pumps and Hartpury College to join last years sponsors - GSK, Gloucestershire College, Glevum Conservatories, NHS Gloucestershire and the Warranty Group. This years award categories are:
Carer of the Year Award
For the nominated carer of a Forest of Dean resident (this category has been generously sponsored by NHS Gloucestershire).
Community Enterprise Award of the Year
Awarded to the local group that has delivered the best community project/scheme (this category has been generously sponsored by The Warranty Group).
The Forester Readers’ Choice Award
The readers’ choice of the person who has done the most for the Forest of Dean.
For the nominated carer of a Forest of Dean resident (this category has been generously sponsored by NHS Gloucestershire).
Community Enterprise Award of the Year
Awarded to the local group that has delivered the best community project/scheme (this category has been generously sponsored by The Warranty Group).
The Forester Readers’ Choice Award
The readers’ choice of the person who has done the most for the Forest of Dean.
Chairman’s Award
The Chairman’s award for individual service to our community.

The George Read Award
For the nominated Parish Council that has done the most for its community. The winner will also receive a cheque for £250 to use for the benefit of its residents (this category has been generously sponsored by Glevum Conservatories).
Community Star Award
This award is for the individual who has made a significant contribution to their community (this category has been generously sponsored by Gloucestershire College).
