As Chief Executive, you’ll be a pivotal part of the representation, promotion and orchestration of the District Council in delivering social, economic and environmental wellbeing of the area.
Working closely with elected members, Publica Group and our partners you will lead the delivery of the Corporate Plan and deliver its priorities through clear-minded decision making and policy advice. You will need to be able to manage a diverse and multi-faceted internal political environment whilst ensuring that the Forest of Dean presents a coherent and effective external front for maximising inward investment and maintain a reputation for partnership working and trust.

This role will set the purpose, values and culture of the organisation and be its lead commissioner. You’ll conduct a robust review of future service delivery, ensuring the financial sustainability and security of the council into the future with which to meet local needs and aspirations and a stable revenue platform and service models that maximise this and overcomes funding constraints.
