Littledean pupils road safety poster competition
Pupils at Littledean Church of England Primary School recently took part in a poster competition promoting safe road crossing.
Following concerns from residents a road safety campaign was set up by the Forest of Dean Speed Liaison Group, which includes officers from the District Council, to tackle the issue of vehicle owners parking on the zebra crossing in Littledean.
The campaign included a road safety poster competition as a fun project aimed at inspiring pupils to use their creativity to inform vehicle owners not to park on the zig zag lines, so that the children can walk to school safely.
The pupils used their art skills to highlight the issue. Six designs have been selected and the colourful creations will be printed and displayed in local businesses around Littledean to promote road safety in the village.
Mrs Hayley McGoldrick, Head Teacher of Littledean Church of England Primary School said: “We work hard with the children to help them to understand how important road safety is. It has been exciting for them to be able to be pro-active and creative in helping to make the crossing in Littledean safer for them and their families to use.”
