Have your say on polling day - 8 June
With just days until the Parliamentary election, Acting Returning Officer, Claire Hughes is encouraging Forest of Dean residents to use their vote and have their say.
The Parliamentary election will take place on Thursday 8 June 2017.
A full list of the candidates can be found on the Council’s website on the Upcoming elections page.
Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on polling day and all residents should have received a poll card with details of their local polling station.
When voting at a polling station it is helpful to take your poll card with you. However, if you do not have it you can still vote providing you are registered. Just go to your polling station and give your name and address.
Resident who are unsure of where to vote, can find the address of their polling station and a location map by using the ‘My Location’ function on the homepage of the Council’s website or alternatively call the Council’s Elections Team on 01594 812692.
Polling station staff will not be able to give out ballot papers to anyone arriving after 10pm, so residents are reminded to arrive in good time.
If you applied for a postal vote you should have received your voting paper. Please complete and return it by post, hand deliver it to the Council Offices in Coleford, or drop it off at your local polling station by 10pm on Thursday 8 June 2017.
Acting Returning Officer Claire Hughes said: “It’s important that as many people as possible take the time to use their vote and have their say. By casting their vote they will be helping to decide who will represent them in Parliament for the next five years.”
