Allocations Plan Adopted
The Forest of Dean District Council has now adopted the Forest of Dean District Allocations Plan. This means that there are up-to-date plans that cover the entire district.
The Allocations Plan is mainly concerned with providing detailed guidance as to what development is expected where and it makes provision for the changes that are expected to be needed between now and 2026.
Cllr Alan Grant, cabinet member for Planning Policy said: "The Allocations Plan identifies sites for new employment, for new housing and for a variety of other new forms of development. As well as making space for these changes, it shows how the district is protected and contains policies for new green space. It also gives information to help achieve good design and to ensure that changes are sustainable."
The Plan is a written document containing policies and explaining them and accompanying maps and these can be seen at https://www.fdean.gov.uk/residents/planning-building/planning-policy/local-plan-new/allocations-plan/ . It needs to be read in conjunction with the Core Strategy which sets out the overall approach. The Cinderford Northern Quarter Area Action Plan also remains in place providing guidance for that area of the district.
