Council reviews funding arrangements for voluntary sector bodies

Forest of Dean District Council will be carrying out a review of the way it funds existing and new voluntary sector bodies in meeting the needs of residents in the area.

The review presents an excellent opportunity to ensure that the Council is directing funds to best effect and it will also investigate the introduction of more flexible arrangements for awarding Service Level Agreements to voluntary bodies, including the potential to extend them over longer periods such as 3-5 years.

The Council is aware that some voluntary organisations might be concerned about this proposed change in funding arrangements and has written to  reassure them that we are confident they are meeting required standards.  The FODDC Community Engagement team will also be on hand to discuss the required outcomes based on the needs of the district.

It is estimated that the new arrangements will be in place by April 2019.
