Newent and Taynton rescheduled poll to take place on 20 June

With just days until the rescheduled election in the Newent & Taynton ward, Returning Officer, Claire Hughes is encouraging residents to use their vote and have their say.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.  Details of where you need to go to vote is printed on your poll card.  It is helpful to take your poll card with you when voting at a polling station.  If you do not have it you can still vote providing you are registered.

Polling station staff will not be able to issue a ballot paper to anyone who arrives after 10pm, so residents are reminded to arrive in good time.

A full list of the candidates can be found on the Council’s website on the ‘Elections and Voting’ page.

Postal ballot papers need to be completed and returned via the post, hand delivered to the Council Offices Coleford or dropped off at the polling station.  Completed postal ballot papers must be received by 10pm on Thursday 20 June.

Returning Officer Claire Hughes said: “It’s important that people take the time to use their vote and have their say. By casting your vote you will be helping to decide who will represent you in the Newent & Taynton ward of the district council.
