Make a payment

There are several ways to make a payment to the Council.

Online payments

It's easy, quick and secure to pay online. You can use this method of payment for:

  • Council Tax
  • Business rates
  • Invoices
  • Garden waste collection service
  • House purchase

All you need is your payment reference number (eg Council Tax account or an invoice number) and your payment card details. You can use your bank debit card or credit card to pay online: Visa, MasterCard, Visa Delta and Electron are all accepted.

Telephone payments

Please callĀ 01594 810000 and select option 1 for ourĀ automated telephone payments service which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can use this method of payment for:

  • Council Tax
  • Business rates
  • Benefit overpayments
  • Invoices

Pay by Direct Debit

This is the easiest method of payment both for you as the customer and for the Council. It saves you the worry of remembering to pay each month, writing a cheque, buying a stamp, posting a letter or standing in a queue at the Post Office or the Council's Cashiers office. Payment by Direct Debit is covered by a guarantee for your peace of mind. This payment method can be used for:

  • Council Tax
  • Business rates
