Driver Licence Renewal

You will need to renew your licence every 3 years.

What you will need

Safeguarding training course

All existing licence holders must attend safeguarding refresher training every 3 years. Failure to undertake the training within the specified timescales will lead to the suspension of your licence until such time as the training has been completed and a certificate has been provided to the Licensing Team. Details of course dates and providers can be found on our step by step guide under the ‘Book a Safeguarding Training Course’ heading.

Costs

Apply

Apply here for new or renewal driver licences for either dual or private hire driver licences.

If your licence has expired, you’ll need to apply for a new licence at the full cost.

You can renew your licence at a reduced fee if you return the application form at least 7 days before your licence expires.

It is your responsibility to check the expiry date of your licence. We will not send you a reminder or any other documents.

Please refer to our step by step guide for new applicants to ensure you still meet the relevant criteria to hold a valid licence, e.g. medical assessment.

We will not refund any licences.
