Draft Local Plan 2041
Forest of Dean District Council has withdrawn its emerging Local Plan: At a meeting of Full Council on 30 June 2026 Councillors voted to withdraw the Forest of Dean District Local Plan 2025 to 2045. Further information here.
We are preparing a new Local Plan for the Forest of Dean District, it covers issues such as tackling climate change, protecting and enhancing the natural and historic environment, housing provision, communities and the economy. The Forest of Dean District Draft Local Plan 2021-2043 sets out the detailed policy framework and land use allocations for the Forest of Dean up to 2041. It includes the policies by which planning applications will be determined and allocates land for housing employment and other uses.
